For The Birds and Moving Forward Birthday

Hello stamping buddies. Wow this 3 day weekend has just flown by. Darn it anyway! I made it to town to get groceries, an hour drive each way. Ready for a nap ha ha! Not really since I am on my 2nd cup of coffee since I got home. I still have to make my bread this afternoon so will make this quick. OK?
I saw this Retro Sketch and thought,"oh what a great way to use DSP" and then forgot all about this Birds Of A Feather DSP and wanted to make a card with it so here it is for the Retro Sketches Card Challenge this week. I actually just used the birdie from the Moving Forward  Stamp Set because he is so cute and you don't have to color him in. I stamped it in the colors of the DSP which is Island Indigo, Primrose Petals, and Summer Starfruit. Then I used my Island Indigo Marker to color the a little birdie told me so...  I scalloped the bottom edge of the Whisper White Card Stock and tied some Island Indigo Baker's Twine around it and tied a bow. You down;t see too many bows on my cards since I am bow challenged. I stamped the It's your birthday on scrap of Whisper White CS and used the Bitty Banners Framelits to cut that out and then attached it underneath. Then it was so naked I thought so I used my Color Spritzer Tool  with my Island Indigo Marker. Attached the In Color Stitched Satin Ribbon that is on special this month and stuck a couple of pieces on with Mini glue Dots. Easy Peasey card but I think it is cute. Don't you?

Here are the details:
Stamp Sets: For The Birds, Moving Forward
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Birds Of A Feather DSP
Inks: Island Indigo Ink Pad and Marker, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals

For the Birds CASology#4

Hi stamping friends. Yay, it is finally here. The Holiday Catalog is now available to buy from. It is fabulous so when I can figure out how to get it on my blog you will be able to click on it and look through it. Until then I have a card for CASology #4 challenge which is a bird card and I knew exactly what I was going to use for this challenge. I really should be cleaning but will get it done as I must work under pressure better. LOL! Really today was my day to cook as I made barbecued pork and cooked another roast so I can make burritos when that cools. I will be up late tonight so wanted to get this card posted. I probably won't post tomorrow since I am giving you two cards today. I got up and went to get my hair highlighted today and then went to town and got groceries and stopped at a friends to get some kale and romaine lettuce and then to my recruit Bonnie's to get dill, peppers, corn on the cob, cucumbers and cabbage for coleslaw.  I have been busy and dang it I bought a seedless watermelon and it had no taste. YUCK what a waste. I am getting excited as tomorrow is the big day that my family comes. I have election judge training so I will be gone when they get here but I will hurry home. I can't wait to see them for the weekend. It has been 6 years since they have been up here to Minnesota.

I used the ink pads and blender pen to color the design that was stamped with Black Staz-on. I used the Border Banter set and stamped it underneath. Very easy card.

Thinking of You Card with For The Birds from Stampin' UP!

Good morning friends. Happy Monday and I hope you had a nice weekend. I had a busy Sunday after I got home from church and got a nap in to get rid of my headache, I worked on my swap cards for my down line meeting Tuesday night and I have been wanting to stamp a card for my girlfriend that has cancer. Please stop for a minute and say a prayer for Cindy if you would. She has not been doing good. She lives in my home town and I can't wait to get back to see her. We were having storms around here last night. I have had the TV on watching the NBS finals (GO OKLAHOMA) but they lost. The weather had been threatening thunderstorms with hail. YIKES! I went to bed after the news so not sure what happened. I was out like the light. I will find out when I go to work this morning I guess.

On this card I used the top note die and then used one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut out the middle of it matching up the points. Then I stamped one of the darling birds in this wonderful set For The Birds on Whisper White card stock that I snailed down under the cutout in the top note. Isn't this nest cute? I just cut up thin strips of  card stock and used Tom Bow glue to glue them down and I used my markers to color the design. I thought it came out so sweet. YILM! I know Cindy will think it is cute. She deserves cute let me tell you. She has really been through it with cancer. I hate that word by the way.

Here are the details:
Stamp Sets: For the Birds, Sweet Essentials
Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, River Rock, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango
Inks: Tangerine Tango Ink Pad and Marker, Not Quite Navy, River Rock Marker
Tools: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies, Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Sponge, Dimensionals, Tombow Glue.
I better get going to work so I hope you all have a blessed day. Thank you for stopping by and hope you have time to create something cute.    Hugs, Bev

Miss You Open Sea card from Stampin' UP!

Hi stamping and scrapping friends, happy Thursday. Wow, I came home so tired from work today. I checked my email and  S U website and then took a nap and I woke up 2 hours later. I wanted to make sure that I posted today in honor of Flag Day. I don't have any red in here but using this set made me sort of thinking like maybe this ship was full of congressman on their way to commemorate the adoption of  the US flag back in 1777. Okay so that was a long stretch you think. Well I will continue to think that and posting this in honor of Flag Day.

I cased this technique out of our Stampin' Success the magazine we get monthly that has all these wonderful ideas in them. Want to get it to? Just join my Bev's Busy Bees team for only $99.00 and you can. Anyway you know those wonderful Label Framelits Stampin' UP! has? I love love love them. You make a mask by cutting out two of the largest framelit, one from card stock and one from copy paper. Then take the next smaller framelit and center it on the copy paper label and cut that out. You should have a thin strip and you will use that for your mask. Then using a repositional glue like dotto (which we no longer sell) lay down that thin mask all around your framelit on the outside edge obviously. Then using a dauber I used the night of navy ink to sponge right inside the copy paper line. I then stamped my design and then I peeled the copy paper off and removed any glue with my adhesive remover. And wah la, I have a frame around my framelit.  Isn't it so cool?  I love how it turned out. I made it a miss you card and kind of wish I had a guy to send it to but dang it I don't. You could easily make this a Father's day card. The DSP comes from Twitterpated DSP . Let me know what you think.

Here are the Details:
Stamp Sets: Open Sea, For The Birds
Card Stock: Night Of Navy, Whisper White, Twitterpated DSP, copy paper
Inks: Basic Gray, Night of Navy
Tools: Big Shot, Framelits Labels Collections,1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1 " Circle Punch, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals.
Well, the NBA finals are on so I better end here. I hope you have a great Friday. I hope to post something tomorrow. Thanks for all the wonderful comments and bless you for stopping by. I feel honored.
Hugs, Bev
Oh and one more day to get my blog candy! Don't miss out!
