Ruffled Paper Ribbon Stamping Technique Sunday

Happy Sunday and uffdah am I tired. Busy weekend and then last night someone started the field across the road from my house on fire. I was working away in my stamp room and I hear all this traffic going by and tons of it. It finally got to me as keep in mind I live out of town on a road all by myself. I finally thought what the heck is going on and looked out to a huge line of fire in the field so I went out to see which way the wind was blowing and make sure I would be okay and wow it was such a long line of fire. I was kind of scared. I was just standing outside watching and finally one of my neighbors drove by.He stopped so I talked to them and they told me they had seen the sheriff so the fire dept would know about it too. So finally I am out looking about 12:30 and here come the trucks. I was so glad. They fly by me and start going to work to put it out. The wind was blowing away from me but I have seen it jump the road before so I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to burn my place down. I didn't get to bed till 1:30 and am tired so will probably take a nap.

But first I wanted to show you this Ruffled Paper Ribbon technique. It is so stinkin' cute and so easy. You cut two strips of DSP any width you want and leave the length of the paper as it comes. Then you cut one of the strips the length you need for you card  and you can banner the end like I did here if you choose. I used Rose Red DSP and I made mine one inch wide and the whole length of my card. I snailed that piece to my card where I wanted it. Then on top of that piece I put down a strip of Sticky Strip the length of that piece. Yes on top of the DSP.  Then on the second piece which is still long, fold over the edge and just started folding it over and then pressing it down to the sticky strip. It is super easy but oh so cute. I know, where is my video camera? It really is easy and looks like ribbon don't you think? Then if you run out of paper just use another piece starting from where you left off folding it over again. Easy Peasey.  You can't even tell the difference. Now guess what, since the DSP comes in all colors of our card stock we can have ribbon in every color. Yippee!  And lots of designs too. Isn't that the greatest news.
And how about using that Totally A-Maze-Ing stamp set I used to make a flower is darling? Yes, the leaves are an oval punch scored with the Simply Scored. I made this card for a totally amazing person that is a real motivator and a Stampin' UP! demonstrator. Shhhh, don't tell Sherrill Graff that this card is for her.I hope she has received it by now.
